CCCWHC is seeking one new board member in the position of Treasurer.  

 

Our Board of Directors act in an unpaid volunteer capacity.

 

Board members must be women only. Sect 31 Anti-Discrimination Act applies.

 

Aboriginal women, women with a disability and women with culturally & linguistic diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Central Coast Community Women’s Health Centre (CCCWHC) was established in 1976 to provide an alternative model of health care.  The vision then was for a holistic women’s health service that would address the variant of women’s health needs, not just the physical, but also emotional, social, psychological, cultural and environmental health needs.

CCCWHC is a not for profit community-based organisation.  We are an incorporated company with limited guarantee.  We are a registered charity; therefore we are able to raise funds and request donations, as long as it is in accordance with our philosophy and the ideology of our Membership.

We are one of many generalist and specialist women’s health centres in NSW with Women’s Health NSW as our peak body.  Women’s Health NSW provides training, database management, advocacy support and representation to government on women’s health issues.

CCCWHC is primarily funded under a grant from the NSW Ministry of Health

Vision

To be the feminist health centre of choice for Central Coast women to access best practice holistic health care.

  

CCCWHC aims for a skills based board and has, through analysis and self-assessment identified specific skill sets that would bring value to the organisation as it enters a new phase of growth.  The areas of expertise being sought are:

·         Finance

·         Accounting

·         Business

 

As a Director you will play a critical role in the strategic leadership of the organisation alongside existing Board members, the CEO and senior team.

 

The role:

·         Will provide advice and expertise on matters of strategy and compliance as well as the monitoring, evaluation and review of the organisation’s programs and performance.

·         Will involve positively representing and promoting the organisation, its programs and its services to stakeholders, including government, philanthropic organisations and donors.

 To be considered for this role you will need to have:

·         the skills to communicate and work collaboratively with other board members and the senior team in a constructive, challenging and supportive manner.

·         the capacity to utilise networks and contacts to increase the organisation’s standing and revenue.

·         the ability to be a critical and innovative thinker.

·         the desire to create a difference in the lives of women and improve communities

·         the desire for an opportunity for a leadership position in the Central Coast region.
