Position Description

 About the role

The Occupational Therapist will work in an Allied Health team dedicated to providing exceptional service to Move Better for Life clients in areas such as:

·         Community

·         National Disability Insurance Scheme

·         Aged Care

·         Hospital

·         Private Practice

Key responsibilities will include:

·         Performing home assessments, making recommendations and following up home modifications

·         Assisting with re-integration to homes and communities, encouraging vocational and avocational interests

·         Performing reviews and consultations at residential Aged care facilities

·         Be involved with discharge planning in Private Hospital Setting

·         Working co-operatively with hospital, NDIS Providers, Aged Care, DVA, as well as other external and internal stakeholders

Although the position is full-time, part-time will be considered for the right candidate. 


Essentials Description


Essential include:


·         Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, or an equivalent qualification, AHPRA registration, and membership with OT Australia


·         Minimum of 1 years' experience post grad


·         A passion for working in the allied health sector


·         Demonstrated experience and knowledge in working with community clients, discharge planning, and minor home modifications


·         Demonstrated ability to work independently, flexibly and conjointly with staff from other disciplines as part of a client focused multidisciplinary team.


·         Demonstrated ability to show initiative and make decisions as needed.


·         Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail


·         Experience in doing ADL assessments, Workplace Assessments and Functional Capacity Evaluations


Desirables Description


Desirable include:


·         Experience with major home modifications


·         A passion for the aged care sector


·         Experience in National Disability Insurance Scheme reporting and other OT assessment reporting for providers such as Department of Housing
