Position Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Clinical Psychologist or Registered Psychologist to join our child and family focused practice based on the Central Coast of NSW. 

Due to our rapid growth and continued client needs for dedicated professional supports, we are now expanding our team.  Working as a contractor, the purpose of the role is to work with children, adolescents, families and adults with a wide range of disorders, e.g. Autism, ADHD, anxiety, depression, mental health disorders and other disabilities. 

Key areas will include:

  • A professional and caring approach to your work.
  • Developed rapport building skills and a friendly, approachable, and welcoming manner.
  • Engagement with clients, families and other professionals, in ways that reflect the values of the organisation and maintains standards and ethics. 
  •  Working with children and families under NDIS, Medicare and privately.
  • Responsibility for the assessment, planning, monitoring and review of client outcomes, including training of the individual, their support staff, family members and carers.
  • Expert consultation and provision of positive behavioural support services to people with a disability and their service providers/families, in line with an individual’s NDIS plan and goals.
  • Conducting psychological and related assessments and interventions
  • Provide evidence-based treatment and clinical knowledge, expertise and support to individuals and their key support network.
  • Ensuring the delivery of innovative clinical practice models using a range of therapeutic techniques.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Flexibility and creativity.
Essentials Description

Essential:

  •  Relevant Tertiary qualifications in: Psychology
  •  AHPRA registered Psychologist 
  •  Experience using a wide variety of Psychological/Behaviour assessments
  • Comprehensive understanding of the requirements needed to deliver complex person-centred behaviour support to people with disabilities 
  •  Must be knowledgeable of different therapeutic methods and be able to switch between different approaches to meet each child’s and adult’s needs 
  • Skilled and experienced in writing high quality reports 
  • Be eligible to receive a provider number through Medicare.
  • Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance (or willingness to obtain before commencing).
  • Have your own ABN
  • Current valid NSW driver’s licence and willing to use for work purposes.
  •  A current National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one prior to commencement 

 

Desirables Description

Desirable:

  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum disorder, Intellectual Disabilities and other complex diagnoses 
  • Positive Behaviour Support experience 
  • Worker Orientation Module: ‘Quality, Safety and You’ certificate
  •  Counselling experience

We are centrally located in East Gosford, with multiple consulting rooms.
